They connect users from their initial web search to their first booking at various venues. The User Acquisition team plays a crucial role in this vision, and they are currently seeking a talented Senior Backend Developer to join their team. As the Senior Backend Developer, you will have the opportunity to dive deep into their tech stack and make a significant impact through hands-on development. However, your influence won't stop at code. You will also play a vital role in guiding the team, ensuring timely deliveries, and mentoring the next generation of developers in the company's small yet mighty team.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Acting as the technical lead, aligning approaches with peer engineers, infrastructural needs with platform engineers, and feasibility risks with the product manager.

  • Working as a backend developer, creating stable, reliable, and maintainable backend APIs.

  • Improving engineering practices through cross-team collaboration, pair programming, and code reviews.

  • Collaborating with the Product Manager on user insights to create impactful solutions.

  • Ensuring consistent delivery velocity through agile and DevOps practices.

  • Assisting in the coordination of project delivery timelines within the team and across other teams.

  • Supporting and guiding fellow peer engineers with your advanced technical knowledge.

What the Company is Looking For

  • 6+ years of experience developing web applications in mid- or large-scale production systems, using major programming languages.

  • First-hand experience as a technical lead or delivery manager.

  • Proficiency in developing web applications using Node.js.

  • Enthusiasm for coding in TypeScript.

  • Strong proficiency in relational databases like MySQL or Postgres.

  • Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS.

  • Familiarity with microservice architecture.
