What You Will Be Doing

As a research engineer in CVML, you will be an integral part of the research team, working alongside applied scientists and R&D teams. Your role will involve searching, validating, and optimizing the latest research developments to meet specific innovation needs while advancing the state-of-the-art in applied computer vision. You will have the opportunity to contribute to and influence the innovation roadmap of partner companies by supporting their R&D teams in the technology transfer process.


  • Convert state-of-the-art research into reliable working prototypes

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest computer vision and deep learning developments

  • Identify limitations of existing research and address them through focused development

  • Customize and train deep learning models on various camera and sensor data for complex industrial scenarios

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful technology transfer


  • Deep understanding of research papers and ability to translate them into code

  • Proficiency in computer vision and deep learning frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, Open3D, PCL, PyTorch, Tensorflow)

  • Strong coding skills in Python and/or C++

  • Experience with CNNs, vision transformers, and foundation models

  • Interest in multimodal learning, diffusion models, and synthetic dataset generation

  • Data-centric approach with expertise in handling datasets and knowledge of MLOps best practices

  • Familiarity with training models on multi-GPU and/or cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS EC2, S3, Sagemaker)

  • Publication record in top-tier conferences is a plus

  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt and acquire missing requirements

Basic Requirements

  • MSc. with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Computer Science or related field

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Italian and/or German is a plus)

  • Creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude
